Madan Lal Khurana, previous Chief Minister of Delhi, has come for Maharaj ji’s guidance. Maharaj ji first advises him to avoid party politics: “Be neutral. Keep serving the people.” Then he gives the former official a long talk about worship of the Divine, starting with:
Other communities don’t know that all avtars are praised in Sikh scripture. For instance, in Guru Granth Sahib it is written, “Ramchandr is my Support.” In Chandi di War, Guru Gobind Singh wrote great praises of Durga Mata. Our country is dharmic. So long as we fail to be strict about religion, we can’t have strict government.
If you recite mantras with love, offering samagri and ghee in havan, all your desires will be met. Here we do it twenty-four hours a day, and victory after victory comes. The Vedas come from enlightened wisdom and give great importance to havan and mantras. In Guru Granth Sahib also it is written, “Always recite ‘Narain’ (a name of God) for continual happiness.” The Names “Sohang” and “Hari” also appear many times in Guru Granth Sahib. All scriptures came to give us peace and enlightenment.
After Madan Lal Khurana leaves, Maharaj ji continues talking to his staff. He says,
God will give power to those who have love in their hearts, and a sweet tongue. A person who speaks of peace but has sword in hand—That Water will inevitably come to wash him away.
We went to Fatehpur Sikri (the beautiful city founded by the Mughal Emperor Akbar near Agra). The thought came to me that there are no bones or flesh here (in the tomb of the Sufi saint Hazrat Salim Chishti), but enlightened wisdom said, “This dervish loved Me, and this Light showered here will last for ages.”
