11 April, 1998 – Guru Gobind Singh

Maharaj gives darshan to a family of old sevadars. He tells them, “You are blessed by your bloodlines, but you should have inner peace.” For that, he begins talking to them about the importance of his beloved Guru Gobind Singh:

Guru Gobind Singh was such a great warrior; he also wrote so much about Krishna, Ram, Durga Mata. Where did that knowledge come from? From his enlightened wisdom. Radhakrishna wrote that Guru Gobind Singh took low caste people and made them Khalsa, and they broke 1000 years of slavery. The proof is Maharajah Ranjit Singh (ruler of the Sikh Empire in Punjab from 1801 to 1839) in whose government were people from all communities. Guru Gobind Singh developed so much energy for dharma and love. His sacrifices blessed every leaf in Punjab.

Now I want his name to go to every place in the world. The time has come. Turn your attention toward him and your work will be done. If you want love, put up Guru Gobind Singh’s photo. But your faith is little.

Make Jaap Sahib your life and whenever you have time in your homes, do Chaur of Guru Granth Sahib. Then you will see great things in your life. Now Jaap sahib is spreading. This is a great thing. Those who read it will never be disappointed.

When you are standing, eating, sitting, doing anything, always thank Guru Gobind Singh: “It is all your gift, your mercy.” To the extent that you consider Maharaj ji (Guru Gobind Singh) present, you will be blessed. Recitation of paath and Nam are carried in the air. That peace comes into you from the trees.

Guru Gobind Singh was not rigid. But he emphasized doing Nam, paath, and chaur Sahib. Respect Guru Granth Sahib as manifestation of the Guru. Understand Guru Gobind Singh as your loving father. He taught me to do Prakash of Guru Granth Sahib in a specific way, including wrapping the scripture in 5 white cloths. Now people don’t respect Him; they never change the rumalas.

He was so well dressed and had a better horse than any king. My feeling is that God gave us His Light in that human form. When we celebrate the birth of a prophet, we say to God, “You are so merciful. You gave form to Your Power.”

Wherever there is difficulty in your homes, put Jaap Sahib in a high place. Guru Gobind Singh is so powerful, so full of Light. Be good children—respect your Parent. There is no place where he is not. Keep reciting Nam and Jaap Sahib. I didn’t get Nam from any person. This is the mantra that Maharaj gave me to recite and give to others. By reciting it, light will be showered on your home.

My firm faith is that the whole world wants Guru Gobind Singh. You will see. The bad luck is that when people get a bit of material progress, they leave dharma. Wherever you live in the world, stay faithful to dharma. It will benefit your work and your life.

Sometimes I feel that Maharaj’s voice is healing the air, the thoughts, that nothing happens without his hukam. Leave everything to him. He is very merciful.
