27 January 1998 – Happiness of the departed soul

A Russian guest has just learned that her father has died. Heartbroken, she comes to Maharaj. He says to her,

God is happy to send people in to this world. They come and go by His order. We should also be happy with His order. If we try to interfere, we are doubting God: “Why did you take him?”

Religion teaches us that God knows what He is doing. He is much more knowledgeable than we are.

She says, “My only sorrow is that I wasn’t with him when he died.”

            Maharaj replies,

Perhaps God already arranged for you to be where healing could be sent to him. Perhaps he needed more healing that you have sent from here. Your coming here was not ordinary. Thank God. Maybe because he was not very spiritual, your prayers from here for him have helped. Pray to God: “Oh Father, my best Friend, I am grateful for what You have done for my father, and also for what You are doing for me.”

One day the Prophet Muhammad stood with many people around him and said, “Death is truth; life is falsehood.”

Never complain to God. Then you will come and go happily. Your father has gone beyond pain and worry, to where those things are not. There are only blessings, blessings. Therefore thank God: “You have given me a very good father who gave us love. That was Your gift. Now he has gone to Your kingdom. I have no doubt that You and he also send us love from there.”
