A group of kirtan-walas from Punjab have been refused the chance to sing at some Delhi gurdwara because something they do doesn’t fit the rules. They have come to Maharaj ji for help. He tells them,
Look toward the Guru, not the management. Everything is under Guru Gobind Singh’s hukam. Don’t waste your time agonizing over people. Those who criticize are far from the Guru. They even criticized Guru Nanak for not speaking Sanskrit and called another Guru the Guru of dacoits. Trees and stones will be with you; people are another matter.
Gobind Sadan is a family place. Leaders all come here lovingly as to their own home. They have all taken Jaap Sahib. I don’t see high or low—I just ask Maharaj to give compassion to those who have responsibilities.
Gurdwaras have their own sets of rules, but bani speaks of Partakkh Guru (the Guru who is evident and present). Kalgidhar (Guru Gobind Singh) is unique and his mission will spread to the whole world.
Don’t get stuck in this enmity. Do the work of your Father, of the Guru. Love everyone.
All those rules are Manmatt (from human thinking). People these days can take the name of dacoits but can’t tolerate the name of saints.
One of the guests is apparently considered a saint. He is wearing white dress and continually turning a mala.
Ignore these things. Go straight. Guru Gobind Singh is for eternity. He is the Dervish of dervishes.
All the Prime Ministers of India since Indira Gandhi have come here, but I am proud to say that I have never garlanded any of them. We just tell them to do Chaur Sahib over Guru Granth Sahib.
There is neither enlightenment or dharma in management. They say, “I am so and so.” Where there is ego, there is no dharma. If you just spend your time saying, “So and so did such and such,” you are at the same level as them.
In Punjab, people do much less scripture reading these days. Never mind. When the time comes, it will all change. They didn’t let the Ninth Guru bow at Harimandir Sahib. The same thing happened to Baba Ram Singh (founder of the Namdhari movement). But the time is coming when they will all love Guru Gobind Singh.
For decades they were opposed to us, but we just kept doing our devotions, and now they are lovingly calling us to Punjab. People are taking Guru Gobind Singh’s name but not loving him. Wherever you look, he is there.
What does management matter to us? See Kalagidhar everywhere. He is King of the Cosmos.
It is my firm faith that the world will change. Look how Gurbani and Jaap Sahib are spreading. How long can Guru Gobind Singh’s sacrifices be hidden?
People have run after material things and left the Guru. There is nothing in Guru Nanak that can be attacked, but how can ordinary people understand enlightened wisdom? He broke all boundaries. He said to God, “You have no country, no religion, no parents.” Guru Gobind Singh gave us a demonstration that even if you have to give your whole family, stay happy.
