A public official has come to see Maharaj ji. From what Maharaj ji tells him, he must have done a lot of corruption and is now trying to improve his karma. Maharaj ji says,
If Truth is with you, filth will not affect your mind. Social problems will not affect you. It is very difficult to end karma. Perhaps you have done crimes in a past life. Therefore, Nazar (the Guru’s merciful gaze) is necessary to remove old evils and develop goodness. Then a person sits in the same social position but changes since his mind is under control. “One who conquers his mind conquers the world.”
An enlightened person says, “I recite ‘Ram, Ram’ 24 hours a day. He makes all my decisions. What do I have to fear? I have no ego. Only Murari (Lord Krishna) is with me, so I’m so happy.” Make God your Friend and you will lack nothing. You just do puja and read scripture, and God does all the work. “Ram has come and my personality is finished. Ignorance is also gone. My Swami is so merciful.”
Our mind is so tender that it cannot tolerate injustice, like glass to a stone. Our mind was very tender but many stones have been thrown at it, so we have become nervous. Ghee and wood disappear in fire. Just so, with enlightened wisdom, all ignorance is burned up.
In our country, as soon as people have a difficulty, they immediately think of going to a holy place, even if they are corrupt. The seed is in everyone, and God rains on everyone, but some don’t take it in. A person who obeys the orders is free and happy, because he has given responsibility to Someone Else. One who has got confidence in His support goes along so nicely. One who believes hukam changes his karma and stays under the Light.
