May 7, 1995 – Interfaith blessings at Jesus’ Place

Last night 17-year-old Neelu, daughter of Geeta Singh, went late up to Jesus’ Place with Rita and Harman to decorate it. Rita bowed and told Neelu to do so, and then said, “Sit here 4 or 5 minutes, doing Nam.”

Neelu recounts, “I laughed. Only 5 minutes? Then I said, ‘Okay.’ Rita Aunty first closed her eyes, and then I did. Then I saw Jesus Maharaj. He was very tall, in a blue chola with open sleeves, with yellow at the base of his heart, and golden hair. I was sitting far away on the stairs. He turned his head to look at me. Then I saw his very nice golden curly hair. There were one or two black hairs mixed with the golden hairs. His face was thinner and longer than our photo of Jesus. He was only looking. I don’t know if he was smiling. He was taller than the cross we have. He was attached to a white cross. Jesus is very handsome, more handsome than any person here. I saw him for a very short time, then I opened my eyes and our short cross was there. Then I was very happy. I thought, ‘What happened?’ I told Rita Aunty, ‘This is your blessing.’ Rita said, ‘No—why my blessing? This is Jesus’ Place.’ Then I came back.”

May 9:

Last night at 10:30 p.m., Maharaj sent hukam for me to go up and light candles at Jesus’ Place. Balwant Singh was sent to do Chaur Sahib in Darbar Sahib in the house on the hill for 1 ¼ hours, and perhaps others were sent elsewhere to do something special.

Then this morning, by Maharaj’s hukam, Neelu painted the symbols of many religions on the pocha (manure plaster) at Jesus’ Place, as she had seen them in vision. On the way up the path, she said, “I have to laugh. I think to myself, ‘I’m a Hindu, I’m living in a Sikh community, and I have visions of Jesus.’ She is so clear-hearted that she painted all the symbols, big and bold, with unwavering lines. God must love her very much.

Zia Shapiro, a Jewish Sufi from the United States, must have gotten the inner call, too, and she showed up to join us there, where she had already been doing some cleaning. She finished cleaning after we left and discovered the great energy of Maharaj’s power working in her. Before she met us, she was sitting on the rock wall in the shade below the buffalos, enveloped in the spiritual peace and power of this holy place.

May 11, 1995

Today a new hukam came from Guru Gobind Singh: Anyone who cannot be cured by a doctor can come to Jesus’ Place, pray, and promise to distribute panjiri. They should sit for 5 to 10 minutes at the cross. Then they will be healed. Maharaj saw Guru Gobind Singh at Jesus’ Place on the evening of Eid-ul-Zuha (commemorating Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son). Guru Gobind Singh told Maharaj, “Our elder is very happy that we are celebrating this day.”
